SC-741 Kami-sugi Kago
Japan Forest Series - Crafted from Japanese Tone Woods -
A special edition model handcrafted by Takumi Morinaka, one of Japan’s leading acoustic guitar luthiers, created to explore the potential of domestically sourced Japanese tonewoods.
The top is made from extremely rare Jindai Cedar, while the sides and back feature the equally scarce Kagono Wood (Shingo-boku), resulting in a truly exceptional and unique instrument.
The most distinctive characteristic of Jindai Cedar is its subtly green-tinged, one-of-a-kind coloration. This is a testament to the long years it has spent in silence, giving it a deep and expressive appearance unlike any other wood.
The sound produced from this remarkably lightweight material is crystal clear and transparent, capturing even the most delicate touch and subtle nuances of the player’s breath and expression.
About Jindai Cedar (Jindai-sugi)
Jindai Cedar refers to cedar that has remained buried underground for more than a thousand years. Its name comes from the belief that it has existed “since the age of the gods.”
Over countless centuries, it has matured and aged within the unique environment of the earth. When excavated, it is already close to a naturally dried state, making it an extraordinarily precious and rare tonewood.
