SE-102 New S "Evolution" Series
The quest for a new S sound
At first glance, it has the same body shape as the existing S series but the bracing, which is the key to the sound, has been re-designed with the top changed from XX-brace to forward shifted X and the back changed from X-brace to Ladder-brace in order to get rich bass tone. On the other hand, the body back shape is changed from the round back style to the flat back style to control the excess overtones and generates a controllable sound that is rich but does not resonate too much. Richlite material known for its consistent quality and excellent acoustic characteristics is selected for the bridge material. Such as the volute that reinforces the neck and improves the sound transmission as well as new neck heel design for improved playability at high positions, we have established a new sound character that sets it apart from the existing S series while brushing up the performance and balance as a fingerstyle guitar.
Major changes from the conventional model
- New neck grip offers new playability
- In addition to increased strength of the neck, volute is adopted for better efficiency of sound transmission.
- Heel shape neck with rounded edges for improved playability in high positions.
