FingerPicking Day 2026 Event Report

Acoustic Guitar Live Festival

On Saturday, March 28, 2026, "Morris FingerPicking Day 2026," a celebration of acoustic guitar, was held at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse.
This year once again brought together 20 participants from Japan and abroad, delivering a contest of an even higher caliber than in previous years. With international entrants making up half the field, the event took on a truly global flavor.
In the contest, 15-year-old Siwoo Lee, competing from South Korea, swept all three top honors: Grand Prize, Audience Award, and Best Song Award.
Kouki Tamakoshi, representing Japan, took home the Excellence Award, as today's leading acoustic guitar talents showcased their outstanding skill on stage.
The second half of the event, "Fingerpicking Night," featured a spectacular live set by four artists: first-time performer Kenta Yago, 2009 Grand Prize winner Seiji Igusa, and two of Japan's foremost fingerstyle guitarists, Tokio Uchida and Rinden Okazaki. Their breathtaking performances captivated the audience.
