Announcement: Cancellation of Regional Contests for 2022 Morris Finger-Picking Day
We are currently working to organize “2022 Morris Finger Picking Day (FPD2022)” around the end of March in 2022.
However, although we are momently seeing decline in number of infected patients from Corona virus, there is still a possibility of the event cancellation depending on the situation in coming months as we can`t assert that the pandemic is shifting toward the end.
With that in mind, assuming that we are able to hold the FPD2022 next year, we are regretfully announcing the cancellation of previous regional contests which were scheduled to take place in Tokyo (sponsored by Ikebe-gakki ), Osaka (sponsored by Miki-gakki )and Fukuoka (sponsored by Shimamura-gakki ) to select regional winners to perform at the FPD2022 along with the regional winners of FPD2020. The decision was made upon talks with the sponsors who all agree to prioritize safety of participants in view of current pandemic situation.
Please note that we still intend to hold the FPD2022 with contenders who had won a qualification for FPD2020.
We truly apologize for those who have been preparing for the regional contests and all the people involved for bringing the bad news again after last year. We would appreciate your kind understanding for our decision which was made with focus on avoiding the potential risk of spreading Corona virus.
